3nd Annual Samir "Sam" Ashmar Memorial Golf Tournament

The Upper Macungie Township Fire Station #56 will be hosting their 3nd Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, June 15, 2018 at the Shepherd Hills Golf Club. This event is open to the public and proceeds will benefit the Samir "Sam" Ashmar Scholarship Fund for students looking to further their education. Sam was a volunteer firefighter since 1982, presently serving as fire marshal and EMT for Upper Macungie Township Station 56, and previously served the Good Will Fire Company, No. 1 Trexlertown, and Lower Macungie Township Station 30. Sam was an assistant to the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and held memberships in the International, National and Pennsylvania Association of Arson Investigators. He also served on the board of directors for the Burn Prevention Foundation, Allentown, from 2000 to 2009. Sam passed away on Thursday November 20, 2014 after responding to an emergency call in the community.

Applications for Camp Susquehanna 2018 are now available! burnprevention.org/camp-susquehanna/ (select camper, volunteer or LIT) Deadline is April 1st for all applications, so please get started right away! The applications are a bit different this year and a bit longer, but you should be able to knock it out in about 20-30 minutes. After this year, your info will be saved from year to year, so next year it will be less work :) Please note that we are going to be at a brand new venue this year (Camp Westmont in Poyntelle, PA) and the dates of camp are as follows (We're adding a full day this year!): 2018: LITs - Monday June 11th-Sunday June 17th (those travelling a long distance will have the option to arrive Sunday evening) Volunteers - Tuesday June 12th (will need to report late afternoon/early evening)- Sunday June 17th Campers- Wednesday June 13th-Sunday June 17th As always, transportation will be provided at various locations across PA for campers.
